Eating Good Asian Food in NYC: Homes Kitchen

Eat Out
Szechuan cuisine has become an increasingly popular choice with the Chinese and Non-Chinese diners in recent years. Just take a walk down the famous eating out street in Beijing, Gui Jie (which literally means “Ghost Street”), and you will see every other restaurant there serving Szechuan style Hot Pot. These restaurants are packed even during the hot and humid summer days!
The Szechuan restaurant I am recommending is somewhat closer to home (my home that is). It's called Homes Kitchen and it's located in the Flatiron district of NYC. It is no doubt my home’s kitchen since they supply me with my dinner at least three times a week. Homes Kitchen proves that you don’t have to go to Chinatown to get authentic Chinese food in NY. The restaurant serves up delicious and reasonably priced Szechuan and non-Szechuan specialties using fresh and non-frozen ingredients. It also provides a quiet and comfy environment for you to enjoy your food.
Homes Kitchen does not serve Szechuan style hotpot, but it sure serves highly authentic Szechuan dishes. Every dish is delicious there and my personal favorites include the cucumber with fresh garlic appetizer, braised whole fish with black bean sauce, kung pao fish fillet, gui zhou chicken and filet mignon with black pepper sauce. My favorite non-Szechuan dishes include the twice cooked pork, sauteed pork with celery and dry bean curd and the highly popular Peking Duck, a dish served with the fat underneath the crispy duck skin removed so it’s healthier than the regular Peking Duck dish served at other Chinese restaurants.
Great food aside, Homes Kitchen also provides patrons with a great service. There are no surly Chinese servers here barking orders at you, or roaches running across your table as you chow down your food. Here you will only find servers here in clean uniform who speak good English. You will also find a clean and beautiful dining ambiance. If you are in the Flatiron neighborhood next and happen to crave for some great tasting and authentic Szechuan dishes, consider checking Homes Kitchen out. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
In all honesty, I am writing this for selfish reasons. I want to keep a great place like this in business so that I can continue to get my take out from there on a weekly basis :)
