SouperBowl 2011 - FoodieLink’s First Annual Soup Contest
Has the winter chill got you down? Instead of hibernating all winter, FoodieLink andSeriously Soupy are inviting contestants - both amateur chefs and professionals - tosubmit their best soup recipe for our first annual SouperBowl Winter Soup Contest on January 26th at 7pm.
TICKETS for this fundraiser and all-you-can-eat soup party costs $30/per person with 25% of revenue to be donated to Bowery Mission, a non-profit soup kitchen in NYC.
Members of the FoodieLink community will have a chance to vote for their Top 10 favorite soup recipes. Contestants will then be asked to compete on January 26th atJimmy’s No. 43 for a live-judging/all-you-can-eat soup taste tasting. Try to use one or more locally sourced ingredients (e.g. cream from local/regional dairies, leeks, etc) and award that in your voting. The grand prize winner will be featured on FoodieLink along with exciting prizes. Prizes will also be awarded for second and third place soup recipes.
All soup recipes and votes must be submitted no later than January 20th 2011 at 10:00pm EST in order to be eligible for this contest. To enter this contest, go the the "Recipes" section of this website. You will also need to register on the FoodieLink site as a user in order to submit your entry or cast your vote. You will be asked to confirm that your submission is an original recipe. If it is not, you may still send it in for consideration for the contest, but you must also attribute it to its original source by filling in the "Attribution" field. We believe in giving credit where it is due and think that all the hard-working recipe developers and cookbook authors would like to have their work recognized appropriately, too.
A quarter of the proceeds will go to the Bowery Mission, a non-profit soup kitchen in NYC. Once again, TICKETS for this fundraiser and all-you-can-eat soup party costs $30/per person and includes books from Bravo Top Chef Andrea Beaman, who will be at the event, bread from Orwasher’s Bakery, regional cheeses, and the chance to get to know good foodies including NYC food professionals.
