Meet Jodi Graber

I wasn’t always passionate about healthy food and well-being (if you only knew how many rolls of sweet-tarts I ate as a teenager). For twenty years as an arts executive in New York City, I was more concerned about “climbing the corporate ladder,” even it meant working really long hours and on the weekends, skipping lunch to attend meetings or having a late-night snack (read between the lines: sugar/carbs) for dinner after staying at the office “just to finish one more thing.” The more I accomplished, the harder I worked. This changed after overcoming an eating disorder and (finally) realizing that I couldn’t live up to other people’s expectations. To be my best, I had to be me.

Fortunately, I had an incredible support system for which I will always be grateful. In fact, because of the love, advice and nutrition education I received from someone whom I think of as my guardian angel, I was inspired to attend the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Honestly, my intention was to study at IIN to learn more for myself, so that I knew more about ayurveda, raw foods and the nearly 100 dietary theories taught at the school, and the concept of holistic health care. Once I was there, I recognized there was a need to support other overworked, overwhelmed type-A perfectionists like me.

I started my company, Bravo! Wellness, LLC in April 2008 and love my clients. It is an honor to guide them on a journey through nutritious food and spirituality for a healthy and fulfilled life.

My professional life in New York City initially began after graduating from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications and receiving a master’s degree from New York University. I was so incredibly fortunate to work for Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and later Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. For a girl who studied dance from the time of she was five, these were dream jobs, but incredibly demanding and stressful.

I am so passionate about sharing my proven strategies, tips and resources for incorporating healthy habits into your life and am delighted to join the FoodieLink community.
