The Sustainable Planet Film Festival is a 2 day event:

Steward Ceremony and Reception: Monday, June 7th 6-8 pm, Rouge Tomate: 10 East 60th Street

2010 Film Festival: June 8th 12-6 pm, Gabarron Foundation: 149 East 38th Street

Started in 2005 by producer Pamela Peeters, The Sustainable Planet Film Festival features six films promoting awareness of sustainable food and environmentally conscious living and celebrates influential healthy-lifestyle activists.

On June 7th, The Sustainable Steward Ceremony and Reception will recognize the unique talents of the people who have made a significant impact on sustainability in fields such as business, art, entertainment, and food. Come celebrate the achievements of the 2010 laureates, including Almudena Fernandez and Emmanuel Verstraeten at this night!

On June 8th at the Film Festival, come enjoy the following films:

"Climate chaos in the South, the victims story", Director : Geert De Belder "Fresh", Director : Ana Joanes "Eco Boys and Girls", Director/Producer : Maria Snyder "Native Wind: powering America": Director : Chip Comins "Urban Farming NYC - Bronx NY", Director Steve Ritz & Adam Liebowitz "Ethical Markets", Director Hazel Henderson

The festival is a gathering place for passionate foodies to meet with these film makers and a variety of advocates in the sustainable development field. Attendees will hear from Tara DePorte, program director from the Lower East Side Ecology Center, Chip Comins, the founder of American Renewable Energy Day (AREDAY), as well as other prominent sustainable community building experts.
