The FoodieLink Team continues to be happy with the growth of our membership and great content (blogs, photos, and more) that people are sharing with each other! We haven’t yet really opened up our efforts to bring in new members, so to see things growing organically like this is really encouraging.
One of the most exciting things that is happening at FoodieLink.com is the addition of some real authorities on healthy food, nutrition, and wellness as members who are blogging on our site. These include:
JoannE - Originally from western PA, JoannE is currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program at the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC. She has a degree in Hotel Restaurant & Institutional Management from Penn State and has worked for several large hotel companies. She also has gluten, egg and dairy allergies, which obviously influences her work in culinary school.
Andrea Davis (adavis) - NY-based nutrition and health coach. Andrea holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Cornell University and received her training to practice Holistic Health and Nutrition Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and SUNY Purchase. She is board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). She is also a marathon runner and avid triathlete.
Alexa Van De Walle (Lightheartedlocavore) - Long-time proponent of local and seasonal eating based in NYC and Southampton (LI). Alexa is a writer and a nutrition/health counselor. She is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and board certified Holistic Health Counselor with a certificate in Integrative Nutrition from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
Liv (LivGlutenFree) - Private chef as well as free-lance recipe development and consulting based in NY/NJ. Liv was trained at The Culinary Institute of America. In January of 2009, Liv found out from her doctors that she has Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disease in which the lining of the small intestine is damaged from eating gluten and other proteins found in wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats.
Jennifer Iserloh (skinnychef) - As a trained chef, Jennifer has shared her recipes and healthy living tips in print publications such a SELF magazine, Prevention, and First for Women, on radio, and on television on programs like the Today Show, CBS, ABC and NBC. As a certified yoga teacher and former private chef for internationally known celebrities, she continues to teach the secrets to comforting meals made healthier and healthy fare made tastier.
We are very excited to have these wonderful and knowledgeable people contributing their thoughts to FoodieLink through blogs and photos, and we hope you engage in conversation with them on the site!
Not much new to report in terms of new features and functions this week as our development team has been focusing on a fairly large application we will introduce next week. While we can’t tell you what it is yet, we are excited because it will bring even greater context to our mission, which is to help people learn more about what is available to them in terms of healthy and sustainable food. That said, our development team has addressed numerous bug fixes and minor updates to existing functions that will make those functions easier and more stable to use.
As always, if you have questions or need help, please email us at support@foodielink.com.
Sincerely,
The FoodieLink Team
